Webinar Recap:
Long Acting Medications for Justice-Involved Populations
On Monday, October 12, 2020 more than 100 people across the country attended our second webinar of the series on Long Acting Medications (LAMs). The goal of this session was to inform policymakers and the public about the importance of LAMs for justice-involved populations. Attendees heard from a broad spectrum of speakers – from patient advocates and systems experts to medical professionals and nonprofit leaders – about their experience with LAMs, treatment barriers both within institutions and in community settings, and successful intervention models for formerly incarcerated individuals. The webinar was cosponsored by the California Access Coalition (CAC) and California Partnership for Access to Treatment (CPAT).
Among the 100 plus attendees were California State Senators Jim Beall and Scott Wiener, who each provided welcome remarks to the audience and discussed the importance of access to behavioral health treatment and medications. Use the access code “CAC2020!” to view the recording to the webinar.
